Discussion

It is said in the Orient that men are governed by Qi and women are governed by Blood. It is obvious that men need Blood and women need Qi, but there is clearly a difference between male and female hormonal functions. This difference is reflected in male and female functionality and in the way men and women think and feel. Hormones play a very powerful role in thinking and emotions. However, this clearly does not in any way alter the ability of any member of either gender to do exactly what they want.

Magu’s Secret and Magu’s Treasure

These two formulas were designed to provide everything a woman could need in basic female herbal support – and more. Magu’s Secret is the more basic formula of the two, combining herbs widely believed to benefit all the functions of a woman. This formula is regulating and anti-aging.

Magu’s Treasure is more empowering than Magu’s Secret. It has Deer Antler and Placenta, which enrich female hormones and provide a kind of power and even courage. This is the formula of empresses. Four Things Combination

Four Things Combination is used in the Orient for infertility, abdominal pain during pregnancy, blood clots or bleeding after child birth, menopausal problems, and deficiency that causes an imbalance of the autonomic nervous system. In addition Four Things Combination can be used for mild anemia, intestinal, vaginal or anal bleeding, irregular menstruation, and weakness due to blood loss.

Blood stagnation is a condition where the capillaries become blocked and blood cannot flow freely. Women are very prone to blood stagnation in the pelvic basis due to the complex arrangement of the reproductive organs in that area. Women frequently constrict the blood vessels in the pelvic basin subconsciously due to any number of psychological or physical stimuli or trauma. From that point on, blood does not flow freely, resulting in blood stagnation (poor blood circulation). If this stagnation continues over a period of time, blood begins to accumulate and may form clots and pockets of severe occlusion. This is called blood stasis, and is more severe than blood stagnation. Blood stasis can have serious physical and psychological repercussions. Chinese medicine believes that conditions such as ovarian cysts, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, infertility, severe menstrual cramps and premenstrual syndrome (PMS) are all substantially the direct result of blood stagnation and/or blood stasis. However, it is clear that deeper causes are often at the root of these conditions, since blood stagnation and blood stasis themselves usually are the result of deep psychological factors which should be handled with Shen tonics. A blend of Shen tonics and Blood vitalizing herbs are appropriate for severe stagnation related problems.

Bupleurum and Peony Combination is used to treat irregular menstruation and many other female problems. It’s main greatness lies in its ability to regulate Liver functions and to build blood. Depressed Liver function causes many of the common problems women experience, including premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and menopausal distress. This great formulation relieves Liver stagnation, allowing energy to flow freely throughout the body.

PMS is caused by a depression of Liver function, so that energy does not flow properly, combined with blood deficiency. It is used for excessive emotionalism, mental instability, irritability, hypochondria, fatigue and lack of strength, In addition it dispels fire, which causes feverishness, hot flashes, flushing and thirst.

Bupleurum and Peony Combination is very effective in re-establishing healthy hormonal balance and menstrual harmony. It can re-establish a regular menstrual cycle within a few months of commencing to use it regularly. It is also used for other common female maladies such as leukorrhea and chronic endometritis.

In addition to building blood, Bupleurum and Peony Combination also warms the Kidney. By warming the Kidney function, this formula tends to improve female libido and fertility, metabolism and vitality.

Supplementary Herbs

Women should not be afraid to use good quality Ginseng extracts.
